With twice the debt of California, Ontario (Canada) is now the world's most indebted sub-sovereign borrower

To the maple syrup reserves!!! That's a rather silly comparison, and exactly what you would expect from The National Post. California is not supposed to be able to borrow significant amounts of money at all. This means that when times are tight, they have to slash and burn to stay above water.
