Suez Canal Not Releasing Ever Given Ship & Crew Until Compensation is Paid

Aren't Egyptian pilots required to be on board when one navigates this canal? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that make them the ones who fucked up? That's a hell of a scheme.
