Scientists fear melting ice is causing the Gulf Stream to disappear, causing Europe to be much colder and drier

It always gets me the France is as Northern as Quebec or Montreal in Canada, while Spain is actually on a level with New York State... The fact the the climate on both sides of the pond is as different as it is, is in large part due to the gulf stream.
