'Everyone else is doing it': Social conformity a top motive for Japanese to wear masks



Don't the Japanese already practice wearing masks when they are sick, so they don't spread it? Pretty much. If you have the cold, you put in on. It's pretty common thing to do during cold/flu season. The ladies of all ages even put the masks on when they couldn't be bother to put on the make up.
