r/worldnews - 72% in Japan believe closure of illegal and unregulated animal markets in China and elsewhere would prevent pandemics like today’s from happening in future. WWF survey also shows 91% in Myanmar, 80% in Hong Kong, 79%in Thailand and 73% in Vietnam.



This isn't a survey showing the % of people who think they should be closed, just the % that think closing them would stop animal to human transmission. Awareness of a risk and willingness to end the risk aren't the same.
