r/worldnews - Roughly 30 nurses in Edmonton have refused to swab patients for the coronavirus because Alberta Health Services (AHS) won't provide N95 masks, their union says. "They believe that when they request one, they should be provided one from the employer without question."

They should have face shields and regular masks, for droplet precautions. N95 is for aerosol protection if they’re on respirators It's a deep nasopharyngeal swab. I have to assume that a good portion of patients sneeze or cough, which are aerosol generating events.
