Trump aides were so afraid he'd pressure Ukraine to investigate Biden that they tried to derail his call with the Ukrainian president

Giuliani gave Trump the idea on national television and when it didn't fair well with the public, his aides told him to let it go but he, of course, didn't. Giuliani was about to go to Ukraine to do it himself. That got out. So he stopped. Then Trump just went ahead and did it anyways.
