How can an area that large lose all it's power? What would have to fail for it to be that widespread? The news here are saying that it's happening in Chile, Paraguay and Brasil as well.

Massive power cut hits all of Argentina and Uruguay - 50 million people without electricity
How can an area that large lose all it's power? What would have to fail for it to be that widespread? The news here are saying that it's happening in Chile, Paraguay and Brasil as well.
