Close roads so children can play in the street like their parents did, say public health experts

This is why I like tech that automatically stops cars when stupid kids chase balls into the street. We managed to have the road closed when my kid was young, so it became a dead end / cul-de-sac. The neighborhood threw a BBQ the day they put up the barrier - in the middle of the road.
